Greentown: Murder and Mystery in Greenwich, America's Wealthiest Community

March 12, - Published on Amazon. Verified Purchase. This is not the first book on this subject I have read, but it is the first to my knowledge identify marijuana as a contributing factor to the murder, in a peculiar way. Martha's boy friend was planning to spend "prank night" with her, but got so high on MJ he could not get out of hid house good parenting!? Had he done as planned, Martha would not have been at the Skakles' or around the murderous Kennedy clan that night.

The book is as well written as the other efforts Michael is still guilty and Tommy is still the "cover up" accomplice. Ya just gotta love the "clan". April 17, - Published on Amazon. This is my favorite book on the tragic Moxley case. Dumas writes about a sad case in an absolutely beautiful way, causing me to tear up many times. His story reminds me of an episode of "Cold Case".

Greentown (Audiobook) by Timothy Dumas | tiolanthsiwilherr.tk

It is written with great sensitivity. Contrast that with the Furhman book, which is written in a very matter-of-fact style, without much emotion, and is more like an episode of "CSI," complete with gory details.

Dumas leaves out the extreme gore, which is refreshing. However, Dumas also leaves out some of the horror of the crime, such as what Michael Skakel did while standing over Martha's body. You might not hate Skakel nearly as much after reading the Dumas book as you would after reading the Fuhrman book.

For years, Dumas has written about the headline-grabbing slaying of year-old Martha Moxley, found beaten to death on the lawn of her home on Halloween, Now, with Greentown, Dumas offers one final examination of the case. The brutal murder of the young all-American beauty, as chronicled by Dumas, begins with a no-holds-barred overview of Ground Zero, the remote Belle Haven community of Greenwich, nicknamed "Greentown," a place where nothing is as it seems. Something evil and decadent lurks in the rows of gabled mansions along the tree-lined streets in the monied enclave, home of the nation's tony jet set, Hollywood royalty, and political power brokers.

Dumas shatters the myth of this suburban Shangri-La with his probing, uncompromising look at the girl's last hours and the crime's aftermath.

However, it is the author's crisp, lean writing style that lends the work its power. Dumas's relentless search does not prevent him from finding the underlying humanity of the principals in this sordid event. The author ventures bravely into the minds of each of the key players, using their individual voices to weave a colorful tapestry of grief, deception, and hypocrisy. After appearing in court to face the murder charge, Michael leaves court and comes face-to-face with Dorthy Moxley.
